FREE PATTERN: Girl's Bow Strap Slippers

In honor of the release of my new baby booties pattern, Bow Strap Baby Flats - available here - I have a free kids-sized version of the pattern for you! After making the baby version, I decided to make a womens size for myself. And they were sooo cute and comfy that everyone began wanting some. I knew an 8-year-old who was having a birthday and thought this would be perfect for her - so here is a girls size 1.5 slipper!

But the great thing about these is that you can adjust the hook and yarn weight and have a completely different size! I used Bernat Waverly (Aran weight) and a G hook, and it came to a 1.5 size, but if you used DK weight yarn and an E or F hook, you could make it smaller - or even hold 2 strands of DK weight yarn and use an I or J hook to get a bigger size . . . the possibilities are endless!

She looooved the slippers, and I even got her to model them for me :)

Here's the pattern:

Materials
G (4mm) crochet hook
2 colors worsted weight yarn (or Aran) 75 yards each
Scissors
Tapestry needle

Stitch Abbreviations
Ch - chain
Sc - single crochet
Hdc - half double crochet
Dc - double crochet
Dc2tog - double crochet 2 together
Sc2tog - single crochet 2 together
Sl st - slip stitch

Stitch Explanations
Dc2tog - (yarn over, insert hook into next stitch, yarn over and pull up a loop, yarn over and pull through 2 loops) 2 times, yarn over and pull through all 3 loops on hook
Sc2tog - (insert hook into next stitch, yarn over and pull up a loop) 2 times, yarn over and pull through all 3 loops on hook

Notes
The numbers in {} at the end of each round are the stitch counts for that round.

If you want to change colors, change after round 4.

Slippers
1. Ch 27, 3sc in 2nd ch from hook, sc in next 23, 2sc in next, 3sc in last. (now working in backside of chains) 2sc in next, sc in next 23, 2sc in next. {58}

2. 2sc in next 3, sc in next 15, hdc in next 9, 2hdc in next 6, hdc in next 9, sc in next 15. {67}

3. 2sc in next 6, sc in next 16, hdc in next 9, (2hdc in next, hdc in next 2) 5 times, hdc in next 7, sc in next 16. {78}

4. Sc in next 25, sc2tog, sc in next 34, sc2tog, sc in next 16. {76}

5. Sc in next 24, sc2tog, sc in next 8, sc2tog, sc in next 16, sc2tog, sc in next 6, sc2tog, sc in next 14. {72}

6. Sc in next 72. {72}

Fasten off, weave in ends.

Bow: 
1. Ch 9, sc in 2nd ch from hook and each across. {8}
2. Ch 1, turn. Sc in each stitch across. {8}
3. Ch 1, turn. Sc in each stitch across. {8}

Fasten off, weave in ends. Wrap yarn tightly around middle of bow.

Join yarn in center stitch of back of shoe. Sl st in next 18, sl st through both the bow and the shoe in next 4, sl st in next 6, sl st through both the bow and the shoe in the next 4, sl st in next 18.

Fasten off, weave in ends. Make the second shoe, and you're done!
